Life Sciences Managing Consultant / Senior Engagement Manager

Our client is a leading professional services firm. We have been asked to identify candidates for their Managing Consultant / Senior Engagement Manager.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include: 

  • Leads project management and end-to-end execution across multiple engagements, including project planning, scoping, estimating, resource requirements internal collaboration, and implementation and delivery of quality outcomes within the constraints of timelines, budgets and resources.
  • Advises and coaches the cross-functional project team on the business perspective and the tactical domain (i.e. data, solution approaches, etc.) to communicates key project decisions in a way that is collaborative, inclusive, and progressive.
  • Serves as coach and mentor for team members, providing guidance for project management best practices, practice area expertise, therapeutic and client alignment, as well as professional development guidance at an individual level.
  • Shares regular updates and guidance to senior management on the status of client engagements, business development prospects and internal needs and developments around capability building.
  • Actively initiates and maintains client relationships by identifying key stakeholders, clearly understanding their challenges and unmet needs; and providing thought-leadership in identifying opportunities, mitigating possible areas of risk and adding value to their business practices and performance.
  • Proactively identifies and pursues opportunities with existing clients.
  • Develops and presents creative, compelling, and effective responses to client requests and solicitations, including Request for Proposal (RFPs) and ad hoc client requests.
  • Collaborates with senior management to visualize, plan and execute the next-phase of organizational growth and team-building.
  • Plays an active role in the innovation and enhancement of services and products from the company.
  • Aims to grow our forecasting offering through the development of new capabilities and business.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires demonstrated experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, with deep understanding of the different structured and unstructured issues faced by the client’s business.
  • Must have solid understanding of forecasting as a discipline, and direct or indirect experience of working with/developing forecasts, preferably for Pharma and Biotech assets.
  • Requires a track record of working in a consulting environment, with a focus on understanding the business problem at hand and a solution-oriented approach to value-addition.
  • The ability to manage, develop and coach team members is required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience leading the delivery of multiple client projects with an emphasis on service quality, resource management and relationship management.
  • Requires the proven ability to drive business development with new and existing clients.
  • Familiarity with an Onsite-Offshore Business Model is required.
  • Expertise with pharmaceutical data-sets, databases, practices, audits and recent developments in the field of patient-data highly preferred.
  • Must be able and willing to travel for business purposes, as needed.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
