Director, Market Access Strategy

Our client is global biopharmaceutical company. They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Director, Market Access Strategy.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Reports to the Senior Director, Value & Access (V&A) Marketing and Account Management.
  • Leads the creation and management of branded and unbranded electronic and print resources for stakeholders and implements tactics that support key branded and unbranded messages.
  • Communicates plans and resources to key internal stakeholders.
  • Manages various supporting strategy and advertising agencies.
  • Manages the budget and develops related direct to consumer/patient materials.
  • Partners with Leadership to determine needs for all V&A groups for each product launch.
  • Collaborates with Marketing Brand Units and Sales Leadership to determine marketing resources needs from V&A.
  • Collaborates to design the strategic priorities for V&A pieces for each brand.
  • Represents the V&A Team on Brand Planning with all Brand Units
  • Works with colleagues and vendors to review and create pieces aligned with the strategy and to streamline currently used V&A Tools.
  • Drives resources through the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) process.
  • Supports branded and unbranded competitive strategy across all therapeutic areas.
  • Leads and executes annual business planning and strategic marketing brand plans, and message refinement/development.
  • Collaborates with marketing and multiple agencies to ensure strategies and tactics are well integrated across the brand campaign and meet brand priorities.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have a minimum of 12 years pharmaceutical marketing experience, with a minimum of 7 years focused on Value & Access (Market Access) marketing.
  • Requires experience working with agencies on creation of materials.
  • Must have solid understanding of the US healthcare landscape and US payers.
  • Previous marketing experience supporting at least one product launch required.
  • Buy and Bill experience and experience working through the Promotional Review Committee process highly preferred.
  • Requires project management experience, including resource allocation and fiscal management.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to collaborate with advertising and other agencies to produce high impact communications.
  • Solid business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide variety of audiences, including field colleagues and senior management
  • Must have management experience of broad operational plans and budgets, with and without direct authority.
  • Strong leadership, influence, and motivational skills, with and without direct authority.
