Director Program Management

Our client is a leading specialty pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Director, Program Management

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Leads cross-functional program teams to identify clear program objectives.
  • Builds fully integrated timelines capturing all activities and resources needed to deliver the program and corporate goals.
  • Builds accurate budgets and forecasts.
  • Identifies measurable success criteria.
  • Monitors program progress and identifies risks and opportunities to timeline, budget or scope.
  • Ensures adequate plans are in place to mitigate risks and enable opportunities.
  • Effectively communicates progress at all levels and escalates critical issues appropriately.
  • Ensures project sub-teams apply the proper techniques to their planning.
  • Drives teams towards the delivery of project milestones on time, on budget, and within scope through utilization of project management tools.
  • Supports the development of Project Management systems and best practices for consistency across programs and contributes to resource allocation considerations across the portfolio.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences or relevant to medicine, human disease, or pharmaceutical development.  Relevant advanced degree or certification is a plus.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Project Management.
  • Requires a sound knowledge of all aspects of the drug development process; early phase drug product development experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in cross-functional drug development strategy, planning and process, evidenced by making clear, concrete and pivotal contributions to advancing multiple compounds into clinical development and/or commercialization.
  • Requires the ability to embrace ambiguity and complexity and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight; and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable, measurable tasks.
  • Must have strong project management and organizational skills and knowledge of team dynamics, structure, roles and responsibilities.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to influence outcomes and key projects.
  • Must have the ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing environments.
  • Requires the ability to identify the need for, engage, and effectively work with external experts.
