Senior Analyst Government Price Reporting

Our client is a specialty pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for an Senior Analyst, Government Price Reporting.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Works with Manager to ensure that all pricing submissions are accurately calculated, analyzed, validated, to ensure that the required government pricing variables for monthly, quarterly, and annual pricing submissions are appropriately reported to various federal and state government agencies.
  • Performs detailed monthly and/or quarterly analysis of pricing and calculation components to determine root cause of variances.
  • Ensures all government pricing data is properly archived and maintained in order to comply with all Federal guidelines and audit requirements.
  • Supports the administration of the Department of Veterans Affairs Federal Supply Schedule contract and be responsible for coordinating timely reporting and Industrial Funding Fee payment to the VA.
  • Assists in the adjudication and payment of Department of Defense Tricare rebates and the development of accruals.
  • Assists in the daily operations of government contract proposals, administration, membership, and pricing.
  • Supports all government pricing, and audits thereto, and legal requests by ensuring documentation is available and accurate.
  • Performs financial modeling to aide in financial accruals process related to government rebate liability and price impact modeling related to government price liability.
  • Supports testing of new software due to government pricing systems upgrades and/or changes in pricing methodology.
  • Supports updating and maintaining SOPs where appropriate.
  • Supports other team members in government pricing work review.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • MBA is preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry, in functions that are heavy with math and analysis preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the areas of, government pricing, rebate adjudication, contract management process/systems, document control, etc.
  • Knowledge of Contract Sphere or other pharmaceutical contract/rebate/membership systems a plus.
  • Must possess technical skills sufficient to learn new systems, understand system functionality well, and test systems when required.
  • Must have a good understanding of Medicaid Drug Rebate Program and Department of Veterans Affairs pricing calculations and reporting processes, understanding of the involvement of statutory/regulatory and compliance in the government calculation process and a proven understanding of current health care environment, regulations, and health care reform laws.
  • Must possess good capability of organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects at one time. 
  • Must have the ability to develop and/or work with flexible pricing models to rapidly facilitate complex management decision-making, and address the pricing of potential risk areas.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the capability to appropriately define issues, questions data; to comprehend qualitative and quantitative methods to perform accurate analysis. 
  • Must have the ability to creatively think about different problems and devise pragmatic solutions to develop data into actionable information. Advanced financial and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy are necessary to ensure compliance with timelines, internal policies, laws and regulations.
