Medical Science Liaison

Our client is a clinical-stage company developing novel immunotherapies. They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Medical Science Liaison.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Scientific and clinical knowledge in the areas of immunology, malignant hematology diseases and treatment, cellular therapy.
  • Prior experience in patient care clinical practice, clinical research processes, trial development and execution.
  • Ability to network and partner with important external customers, including key opinion leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, NCI Cooperative Group leadership and members, medical directors of medical groups or insurance carriers, as well as pharmacy directors.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills and is able to step forward to handle challenges within scope of authority.
  • Identifies, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with disease management experts, investigators, institutions, groups and consortia strategic to the research of and effective use of the company’s therapeutics products.
  • Participates in medical education about the company’s therapeutics products for healthcare professionals through presentations at appropriate venues.
  • Identifies medical community educational needs for product research and market introduction.
  • Identifies and effectively communicates the company’s therapeutics clinical research opportunities that are consistent with company objectives.
  • Maintains clinical expertise through aggressive self-education, including attendance at relevant conferences, scientific workshops and continual review of the medical literature.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • MD, PhD or PharmD.
  • Previous MSL experience with a minimum of 5 years of malignant hematology and/or oncology experience and experience with product development activities in preparation for new product launch.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel. This is a customer-facing position and the geographic territory expected to be covered is large.
  • Highly motivated about working at the company’s therapeutics and intellectually invested in the company’s science and products.
  • High degree of adaptability, flexible to accommodate changing priorities, sense of urgency as appropriate, recognizes priorities and timelines, ability to design and execute plans
  • Must be articulate and self-confident during formal and informal presentations and must be able to convey complex, scientific ideas fluently to any audience.
  • Skilled at diplomacy and adept at building effective relationships and advocacy with KOLS and HCPs assigned geography.
