Director of MS&T

Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Director of MS&T.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Leads a group of scientists, engineers, and technical specialists in support of cell culture operations.
  • Sets, implements, and monitors goals for staff development, safety, quality, compliance, efficiency, continuous improvements, and customer service.
  • Serves as a key conduit to our client’s partner organizations and will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with their customers to enable their success while ensuring MS&T staff focuses on the technical challenges that make the best use of their strengths.
  • Represents MS&T across the company’s network and externally through interfaces at all levels from front-line to senior management.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a technical or engineering discipline with 15+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of large scale biotechnology unit operations, principles of SIP and CIP, and principles of biochemical engineering, and process data analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cGMP requirements for clinical and commercial biopharmaceutical manufacturing and the ability to implement best practices to ensure multi-product drug manufacturing operations are cGMP compliant.
  • Industry experience as a technical professional supporting approved commercial products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, and ability to work productively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Recognized in the scientific and engineering community through a record of publications, presentations and/or patents.
  • Ability to see beyond own function to understand business issues and implement best practices and proven track record in leading teams with cross-functional scope.
  • Ability to influence others without direct authority, operate in matrix environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • This leadership position requires a strong technical background coupled with a dedication to mentoring, developing, and inspiring a team of talented technical leaders and individuals.
