Executive Director Neuroscience Translational Medicine

Our client is a major global healthcare company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for an Executive Director Neuroscience Translational Medicine.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Provides medical input into the development of compounds based on specialized knowledge of early clinical drug development and disease area knowledge.
  • Involved in all aspects of the design, conduct, monitoring, interpretation, and reporting of clinical trials.
  • Ensures that all clinical studies operate to the highest ethical and safety standards in compliance with GCP and regulatory requirements.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • MD required, with specialty training in neurology, or other specialty with significant experience in neuroscience, including neurodegeneration.
  • 5+ years of drug development experience (the majority of which should be in industry) with clear evidence of delivery.
  • Experience in clinical and preclinical science in the neuroscience therapeutic area.
  • Ability to balance business and clinical research objectives.
  • Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical safety reporting and surveillance processes.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and preparing regulatory documents.
  • Significant experience in leading early clinical development programs, including First-in-Human studies, and in translational medicine.
  • Experience with both small and large molecule development is desirable.
  • Ability to design early clinical drug development programs for neuroscience indications, with a track record of innovative approaches.
  • Must have the ability to incorporate translation medicine into clinical development.
  • External recognition of clinical and/or scientific excellence (e.g. awards, record of publications or scientific presentations).
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and team competencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in neuroscience and ability to provide medical leadership to cross-functional project teams within a global pharmaceutical environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and scientific colleagues alike, in formal presentations and small group meetings.
