Senior Director National Health Systems Oncology

Our client is a major global healthcare company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Senior Director National Health Systems Oncology.

The Senior Director National Health Systems Oncology is responsible for achieving sales forecasts by maximizing opportunities based on pay or access, and meeting financial targets for a defined geographical area.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Sets objectives, coaches/mentors, assesses performance and addresses skill development for direct reports to ensure appropriate portfolio business management.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Brand, and leadership to influence strategic direction in the Oncology therapeutic area to deliver on customer needs and opportunities optimize business outcomes.
  • Ensures effective negotiation and access tactics are executed to support managed care strategies for each brand across the targeted accounts.
  • Implements account management and prioritization process and account responsibilities across key, targeted Oncology accounts; including and partnering with local Oncology sales leadership in this process.
  • Provides integrated launch product planning for customers in conjunction with field sales strategy.
  • Develops business to business relationships with targeted Oncology customers as appropriate.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic influencing and communication skills, and experience in managing budgets.
  • Prior experience in commercial function preferred.
  • Prior experience in Oncology is desirable.
  • Experience in managed markets related position (e.g., Account Director, Contracting Director or Brand Strategy Director) is a plus.
  • Understanding of customer segments and regional market dynamics within all therapeutic areas.
  • Demonstrated coaching skills especially related to business planning and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to lead and manage local field sales leaders and to develop staff through coaching and mentoring.
  • Exhibited ability to manage multiple, concurrent work streams in diverse functions and therapeutic areas.
  • Previous successful work experience in team selling environments, inclusive of successful management of teams.
