Marketing Director, Diabetes Injectable

Our client is a major global healthcare company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Marketing Director, Diabetes Injectable.

As a member of the Injectables Marketing Team, the Marketing Director is responsible for the design, execution, and measurement of all marketing activities in support of the injectable franchise.  Additionally, the Marketing Director is also responsible for the pull through of integrated Diabetes strategy as well as creating and executing promotional plans and programs.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibilities include development of all aspects of the brand strategy, with specific focus on market opportunity assessment, positioning, strategic and tactical development.
  • Partners with Franchise Head to craft brand strategy, and identify needs relating to Market Research/Insight, brand positioning, and messaging strategy.
  • Drives alignment across the diabetes franchise.
  • Drives integration of commercial and clinical objectives and supports development programs as necessary.
  • Establishes strong alliance with Medical and Sales partners and gains fluency on field dynamics and key success measures.
  • Partners with brand management on product lifecycle initiatives, promotions, and other marketing strategies.
  • Partners with international marketing resources on global marketing campaigns.
  • Integrates HCP and consumer strategies and develops integrated brand messaging across all customer groups.
  • Organizes people, activities, communication and resources around a common goal and achieves business objectives in a timely manner.
  • Creates sustainable, long-term relationships with thought leader advocates and customer advocacy groups and develops a thought leader influence map.
  • Translates the brand strategy and positioning into consistent and compelling messages that build on the customer insights and increase differentiation and interest in the minds of the customer, and refresh as warranted by insight or market dynamics.
  • Manages brand relationships with advertising agencies, MED Com companies, consultants, and other third party groups to maximize sales.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.  MBA in relevant field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical experience is required.
  • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Marketing and Promotions experience.
  • 5+ years of experience related to Diabetes therapeutic area.
  • Experience in Consumer and/or Managed Markets strategy.
  • Experience within Early Brand Lifecycle.
  • Experience in Consumer and/or HCP marketing strategy.
  • Experience developing a strategy and executing it.
  • Experience in Insight/Market Research.
  • Sales and/or Sales Leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capability and people management skills.
