Global Clinical Outsourcing Manager

Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Global Clinical Outsourcing Manager.

The Global Clinical Outsourcing Manager will work closely with key stakeholders across GMD and the Study Management team and will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of GMD externalization strategy for full service outsourcing.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensures that the right agreements are in place with suppliers, at the right time, to accelerate the company’s discovery and development activities.
  • Ensures strategic supplier relationships are managed effectively to drive continuous improvement and harness innovation.
  • Leads and delivers strategic sourcing and outsourcing projects.
  • Develops and maintains framework agreements.
  • Builds the company’s supplier relationships.
  • Implements the category strategy for Study Management and delivers the associated sourcing events.
  • Ownership and development of a supplier management relationship with a core strategic supplier.
  • Develops relationships with business stakeholders, understands their needs and delivers on the company’s commitments.
  • Identifies and manages category and supplier risk.
  • Supports cross-functional procurement where agreed.
  • Acts as an expert in area, provides authoritative guidance and support to colleagues.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant professional qualification.
  • Strong Procurement background, with indirect services experience.
  • Pharmaceutical R&D/Clinical category expertise, particularly late stage clinical development preferred.
  • Experience in managing relationships with Strategic Suppliers (Supplier Relationship Management).
  • Experience of BPO or Complex sourcing is desirable.
  • A working knowledge of Ariba is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a complex independent spend category globally.
  • Proven record of leading a cross functional team while building and analyzing commercial models.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
