Associate Director, Commercial Analytics

Our client is a company dedicated to developing groundbreaking medicines for the treatment of serious brain disease.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for an Associate Director, Commercial Analytics.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Provides architectural direction for creation of logical and physical models for the relational databases, data warehouse, and commercial analytic tiers.
  • Provides business requirements for data analytics, data reporting, and on-going customer master management.
  • Conducts data analysis to ensure data quality and governance process within data warehouse and commercial analytic tiers.
  • Provides architectural support for integrating internal and external data sources.
  • Recommends and establishes standards, guidelines, and procedures for design and maintenance of data warehouse and commercial analytic tiers.
  • Manages vendor relationships for data related activities.
  • Develops rigorous, fact-based analyses to assist in the evaluation of the company’s strategic initiatives and develop recommendations.
  • Develops, executes, and updates various analytics (i.e., compliance, persistency, APLD patient flow) to support Commercial analyses.
  • Designs and manages Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards in collaboration with product managers and analytic colleagues to inform marketing tactical plans.
  • Ensures cross functional communication and alignment to maximize impact of insights on strategic issues.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in a quantitative field (e.g. finance, mathematics, or statistics).  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in pharma/biotech industry performing business analytics or in a consulting role is required.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working directly with IMS or SHA data sets.
  • Experience with data warehouse design elements within pharma/biotech industry.
  • Understanding and integration of secondary healthcare data, competitive intelligence, primary market research and other data inputs to create full therapeutic area insights.
  • Experience resolving common data quality issues related to commercial data.
  • Experience with SQL programming language or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify key issues and value drivers, and translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytic framework.
  • Significant experience conducting complex analytic assignments in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Experience with Veeva and Commercial Marketing Systems (Appature) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and drive processes to completion.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop new techniques or approaches as dictated by the business.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an established ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience.
