Senior Manager, Global Market Research

Our client is one of the world’s leading generics and specialty pharmaceutical companies.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Senior Manager, Global Market Research.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Develops and provides analysis to support strategic product planning, which includes situational analysis and market research necessary for developing and testing each product’s positioning, promotional concepts and messaging.
  • Leads the design, development and implementation of analytical models using appropriate data mining and statistical tools.
  • Leverages market research data such as transactional and behavioral data, demographic and attitudinal overlays, and qualitative and quantitative research to make business decisions regarding marketing investments.
  • Leverages competitive intelligence information to synthesize insights.
  • Supports campaign development, concept testing and message validation to determine the best campaign ideas for implementation.
  • Conducts market research studies to optimize and improve product concept, pricing, positioning and all marketing elements.
  • Assesses and evaluates new opportunities through primary and secondary market research analyses.
  • Provides expert insight and consultation regarding current and new products, market and competitive landscapes to allow the implementation of strategies to generate above market growth, focusing on key growth drivers in major markets.
  • Collaborates extensively with growth driver leaders, business development, commercial teams, and regional marketing.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.  MBA (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant market research experience in the healthcare industry.  Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in healthcare, with pharmaceuticals preferred.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Discipline expert, typically with a number of years post qualification experience or equivalent business experience.
  • Ability to utilize multiple sources of information; problems may require complex analytical or problem solving techniques to define and identify cause.  Requires evaluation, interpretation and judgment to select the right course of action.
  • Ability to interpret or explain data or information to deliver messages to audiences not knowledgeable about the subject matter.
  • Ability to contribute to the achievement of functional goals through personal effort and may affect related activities in other functions (short-term impact).
  • Accountable for planning the details of own work assignments.
