Our client is a major global healthcare company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Product Director, Brand Management, Oncology

The Product Director, Brand Management, Oncology leads and manages the full spectrum of marketing for a specific brand, including leadership of a team of direct reports, marketing strategy, analysis, program development and implementation, budget and resource management, and with multiple stakeholder relationships.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Provides strategic marketing leadership to a US marketing team and the North America region.
  • Defines the team’s strategy, analyzes market opportunities and successfully executes marketing plans to ensure positive business results.
  • Leads and implements marketing strategies that will achieve optimal long-term performance across the disease area in terms of market share and product performance.
  • Leads, motivates and effectively manages a team of direct reports to deliver required results, including coaching, training, developing and rewarding team members.
  • Oversees effective implementation of a brands marketing plan in line with company standards and corporate strategy.
  • Ensures budgets and resources are effectively managed within agreed upon limits and plans are effectively implemented.
  • Positively influences key stakeholders and opinion leaders inside and outside of the organization to ensure effective working relationships are in place to obtain input and ownership of programs and plans as required.
  • Establishes and effectively monitors performance management objectives based on relevant marketing plans and assessment of individual and team objectives.
  • Integrates marketing and business expertise to ensure leadership credibility and product and market knowledge to bring value to the team, the function and to the Business Unit.
  • Is fully conversant with the customer/market place, key dynamics and policies in addition to an up to date knowledge of key competitors and their strategies.
  • Grows sales for a brand by increasing market share and driving market expansion.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  MBA degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience required, 6 years or greater of marketing experience preferred.  Oncology Experience preferred.
  • Marketing expert with thorough knowledge and experience in marketing strategies, trends, practices and products.
  • Proven leadership skills and presence in highly visible role with proven business results.
  • Proven leadership in sales and sales management as well as product marketing.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible leadership style with ability to work cross functionally within diverse group of colleagues, peers and other professionals.
  • Demonstrates excellent strategic marketing, analytical, business and budget management skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
